Well, tried to do myself in again this weekend. Whilst larping, chased Naysmith (
fourmyle's character) round some bushes and onto a muddy track. Gave up the chase due to mud, turned round, and significantly went round the other side of the tree that I had just run past. Didn't see the barbed wire fence at around ankle height, and the next thing I know, I'm executing a perfect demonstration of levers, and my arms and head charge groundwards at a great rate. My arms won the race, thankfully, but my head demonstrated it's desire to win by still crossing the finishing line and hitting a rock. After a couple of minutes of self-diagnostics whilst lying on the ground, I conlcuded that I was ok, and that I could carry on. I stood up, and found out that I couldn't!! I pulled a muscle in each arm, had a slight headache, and my ankles hurt. Further investigation found a nice cut on my left shin!! And to cap it all off, I have some trouser mending to do as well (or just get some new trousers, haven't decided which yet).
Other than that, larp was reasonably ok. Didn't enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed other larps, not sure why, I think it just failed to capture my imagination. Mind you, the exceptionally silly ritual was fun!
In other news, had a
doribore in Bath for the weekend. T'was good. We (as in my housemates and Dori) went out for a curry on saturday night which was gorgeous. Have to go there again. I can't reccomend Rajpoot highly enough. Ok, it's not cheap, but it isn't exactly expensive either. 22 quid each for poppadums, curry, rice, nans, a bhajee and drinks, and they were good curries too. Also, found a flat for Dori and Tim to live in. It's not bad really, and isn't far at all from a decent shopping street so getting supplies won't be a problem.
Now back to work, where yet another person is leaving. This time, I get to take over most of his job, which apparently will look good at appraisal time. I wonder if I'll get a decent payrise for it? (who am I kidding!!!)
