Jan. 2nd, 2007 11:39 amSo, the new year starts with me...... doing the washing up. Ok, so technically that happened on the 2nd rather than the 1st, but I very rarely count the 1st in my New Year Begins Here motiff in my head as the 1st is a holiday and therefore is for relaxing in and doing stuff I want to do rather than stuff I have to do.
I should be looking forward to this year immensly. I'm getting married, I've got a steady, stable job, about 2 or 3 debts get finally paid off, my brother is getting married, yet I've got this sense of unease and dread about the year. Perhaps it's because of history having the ability to repeat itself? Perhaps it's because of the whole unknown thing looming with regard to visas? Perhaps it's because I'm getting old? I don't know. I just have this feeling of immense dread.
I wonder if it's because the new Harry Potter film may not live up to all my expectations? Ooh, that could be it :-)
Still, new icons... v. funky.
I don't do new years resolutions as such, but will take advantage of the situation to reinforce my continual optimism...... look, there it is, over there, on the sofa.
