(no subject)

Well, all is going well so far. I'm becoming a lot less self-concious about my song, which is good. Mind you, you have to wonder when the first thing the director does is come up to you and say "you don't mind playing the fool do you? Good". Cue sillyness from my character. Oh well, as long as I'm told exactly what to do, I'll be fine because I can improvise within that - strange as that may sound. Give me too much free reign and I stand there like a lemon having no idea what to do. Tell me that you want me to dance like a girl from the back of the stage to the front of the stage and do a little curtsey at the end, and I can do my own little girly dance, and improvise it a bit to something that I like, the director likes, and something that I can repeat, and I'm fine.

When we came to setting my song, I was given the instruction "Work the apron for the second verse". Cue me not having the first clue about what to do apart from go over there, then come back over here. Happily, the director seemed to sense that I didn't have a clue - how she could tell I'll never know! - and tonight I'm off for training with our choreographer (is that how you spell it?) and we can work out something for me to do during the song. Then, I can go away, practise it, get it memorised, and when we next come to do it, I can look good rather than look a bit crap!
