Jul. 2nd, 2005 10:41 pm45 runs. *45* runs. 45 runs. 45 RUNS!!!!! :-)
I got 45 runs today whilst batting. This is my highest score in senior cricket ever, ever, ever (and I've been playing since I was 11). I then backed it up with 3 wickets for 23 runs. Today was an amazingly good day. :-)
I am now the proud owner of a new wardrobe (ok, so the doors aren't on it yet, nor is the back but I'm getting there), the washing machine works, as does the tumble dryer, as does the cooker, and we beat the team that are top of the league today with me doing really well. Tesco Kick drink (cheap Red Bull alternative) is wonderful, although admittedly I was rather hyperactively keeping the scoreboard displaying the correct information for the first 20-odd overs of our innings. Then I went out to bat for 18 overs with instructions to be there at the end. I was two balls short :-) Oh well. But I got 45 runs, and am very, very happy about it. I then bowled well and the ball was spinning loads which is always a good sign. To be fair, even I was surprised at how much turn I was getting, but I took full use of it!! I now consider myself a genuine all-rounder, and have the statistics to back it up now. Go me.
Oh, and
doribore appears to enjoy watching us play cricket which can only be a good thing because then we both get to share the experiences and actually know what each other is talking about!!!
